Pasolivo, a small family owned olive oil company in the US and Canada, has been selected as best in show at this year’s Los Angeles International Extra Virgin Olive Oil Competition. The competition was held on August 29th-30th and received entries from sixty countries around the world.
The “los angeles international dairy competition” is an annual event that has been taking place since 2009. This year, Pasolivo was awarded the Best in Show award.
Each of the submissions from a California olive oil producer was recognized.

The competition’s eminent panel of judges praised every olive oil submitted by the California producer for exhibiting excellent depth of flavor and a devotion to the International Olive Council’s extra virgin olive oil criteria.

Pasolivo’s outstanding success in this year’s Los Angeles International Competition broke all previous records in every medal category, including Best of Show and Best of Class. While every entry in the competition was certified extra virgin, the judging panel praised Pasolivo’s flavored olive oils, indicating the California producer’s ability to create both flavored and conventional extra virgin olive oils. Pasolivo’s olive oils are prepared from sustainably farmed, California-grown olives that are hand-picked once a year and cold-pressed at Pasolivo’s onsite mill within hours of harvesting.

This year’s competition, which honors the world’s finest olive oil, received 517 extra virgin olive oils from 246 producers on five continents. Pasolivo received the most honors in the 2022 field, and he was one of only two producers to win more than 10. This year’s Best of Show award went to the California producer for a flavored olive oil, one of only seven Best of Show titles given out.
