The Taliban has taken over the city of Ghazni, Afghanistan. They are reportedly using civilians as human shields and killing people who try to flee. As a result, the situation is deteriorating rapidly with civilians fleeing to Kabul for safety.

The afghanistan capital is a city in Afghanistan. It has been under Taliban control since the beginning of the year. The situation in Kabul continues to deteriorate as people continue to flee and die due to violence.

America’s Longest War, the US-Taliban Conflict

After almost two decades of conflict, US troops are leaving Afghanistan, followed by an agreement between the US and Taliban militants. It was the same terrorist organization that had been deposed from power in 2001. In 2001, the United States invaded militarily and swiftly deposed the Taliban, promising to promote democracy and eradicate the terrorist threat. As a consequence, a new Afghan government was formed, which seized power in 2004.

NATO partners joined the US in the fight against terrorism the same year. The Taliban assaults, however, persisted despite all of this. NATO’s special forces operation concluded in 2014, allowing the Afghan army to handle all of the duties. After all of this, there were peace negotiations between the US and the Taliban, in which the Afghan government had a little role.

An agreement on the departure of US troops from Afghanistan was reached in Qatar in February 2020. Even the US-Taliban agreement failed to halt the assaults, and the Taliban began attacking civilians and Afghan security personnel, expanding their grip over the region.

According to recent reports, Taliban militants ultimately reached Kabul on Sunday and demanded the central government’s surrender. Despite US President Joe Biden’s assurances that the Taliban would not be able to overthrow the Kabul government.

People in Kabul began racing to the banks to withdraw their life savings and leave as quickly as possible. Fearing that the Taliban will re-establish the harsh laws and limitations that deprive women of their rights, both residents and visitors began fleeing the nation.

On Sunday, Afghanistan’s President, Ashraf Ghani, joined his fellow countrymen in fleeing the nation. And foreigners, signaling the end of a two-decade experiment intended at rebuilding Afghanistan. President Ghani, according to local media, has escaped to Tajikistan.

The whole world is terrified.

The whole world watches in amazement and wonder as the Taliban quickly take over the states of Afghanistan while Western troops are evacuated. With a mixture of astonishment, dread, and helplessness, European leaders are watching the crisis unfold. After spending billions of euros to assist the US military. Furthermore, despite deploying thousands of soldiers, European authorities are baffled by the speed with which Islamist militants have beaten government forces.

European authorities are very worried about the possibility of hardline Islamists retaking power in Afghanistan. Above all, they are concerned about the certainty of a fresh surge of migrants, as well as the safety of Afghans who have worked for the European government.

3,000 soldiers have also been sent by US President Joe Biden to assist American and Afghan residents in evacuating. Three engineers were also evacuated from a region of Afghanistan held by the Taliban.
